The Watchers, 2025

The World of the Watchers is an evolving story-building project that interweaves folklore and myth-building with ceramic sculpture and photography. The project began as a search for a greater sense of play and whimsy, in a practice that felt over-thought and overly serious. It has quickly taken on a life of its own, with the characters and story building upon themselves in unforeseen ways. It is both a response to the ever growing threats of climate change, as well as a call to take seriously the art of play and wonder.

The World of the Watchers:
Photographic Works (ongoing)

There is a realm within our forests that only a select few can see. A society of creatures that play an invisible, yet vital role in our world and in all others. This role is little understood, but for those able to see, there are subtle clues to its nature.

This is the world of the Watchers. They are watching everything. They must watch, for all of us.

Stories I told You
(2022 Graduate Thesis Work)

How does repetitive telling change our relationship to our own history? Why do we chose the stories we do? What happens if we release certain stories in exchange for others? If we distill them down to their barest parts? Does changing the stories we tell, and how we tell them, change who understand ourselves to be?

And what of the stories we are told? The stories we know without even knowing how we know them? Can they shape us just as our personal stories do?

Held, 2022

Completed while in residency at EKWC, Held is a visual exploration of the memories we hold dear, and how they shift and flow through the tides of time.
